In the second installment of the Spy and WHCP’s monthly check-in with Cambridge Police Chief Justin Todd, the Spy’s editor, Dave Wheelan, and WHCP’s station manager, Mike Starling, discuss the city’s police department’s ongoing efforts for community-oriented policing an update of staffing levels, new measures for community engagement and some of the challenges faced by new juvenile laws in the state of Maryland.
Chief Todd also weighs in on the city’s current ordinance related to evening curfews for young people and his support of Mayor Steve Rideout’s proposal to remove the existing punitive elements of the current law.

The curfew needs to be a much earlier hour. The parents are at fault for this. We need much more police on the streets to. We do not have enough.
