The Maryland National Guard’s Cambridge Armory was built in 1910 under the supervision of J. Benjamin Brown to resemble a medieval fortress. For many years it was home to Company C, which assembled there after being federalized in 1914 and 1916 and during World War II. The armory hosted car shows, skating, dancing, and the National Outdoor Show, among other events. The building is now the location of the Dorchester County District Court.
