Local mosaic artist, Lisa Scarbath, will showcase her mosaic art during the themed show “Hope and Healing” at the Ocean City Center for the Arts. This show is inspired by the current challenging times. Artists were asked to create work that would inspire a message of hope and healing by bringing back light and joy to the viewer. Artists were also asked to compose a few sentences to explain how their work conveys the message of hope for this special show. Lisa’s entries offer both beauty and light in her work. One entry chosen is entitled “Sunflower,” a stained glass mosaic, for which she writes “Turning to the sky, round face bursting innocence, seek hope in the sun.” Her second entry chosen is entitled “Orange Pom Pom Flower,” and she wrote “Light comes after dark, sometimes merely a glimmer, always bringing hope.”
The Hope and Healing show will be on display from January 17th to February 27th at the Ocean City Center for the Arts located at 502 94th Street, Ocean City. For more information on the show visit www.artleagueofoceancity.org. Lisa’s other work can be seen at www.PiecefulDesignsMosaics.com and Facebook and Instagram.
