The Cambridge Rescue Fire Company Train Garden is marking its 91st holiday season, continuing a tradition that began in 1934. This beloved display blends nostalgia with modern touches, inviting visitors on a miniature journey through time.
From a 1950s drive-in movie theater to scenes inspired by today’s world, the winter wonderland is filled with trains winding past Ferris wheels, bus stations, and even a football field. One of the centerpiece attractions is an exact replica of Cambridge’s iconic drawbridge.
Look closely and you’ll spot delightful surprises throughout the display — the Beatles performing in a bandstand, Marty McFly straight out of “Back to the Future,” and a detailed model of the old City Hall glowing with Christmas lights.
If you can’t make it to the train garden in person this year, this video offers a front-row seat to one of Cambridge’s most cherished holiday traditions.
This video is approximately 6 minutes long.
