Cambridge Marketplace was once known as Cambridge Plaza, a very busy place. It featured Bay Country Bakery, Zepp Photo Center, The Flower House, Safeway, a laundromat, and Ames. Plus there was Price’s music store, Peking House Chinese Restaurant, and The Loft Sub Shop, which was set up like a barn with stalls. And, of course, there was Drug Fair, where one could get novels, magazines, comics, and records. They had a small cafeteria-style eatery where you could wait for your prescriptions to be filled.

Wasn’t there an Englishs’ in that location? I remember when we were tranferred here, we came on Rte 50, thru Cambridge. This was in 1983, and I think we stopped there to eat. I was fascinated by the way they cooked their chicken; up until then KFC was all we knew!
I happy to see that Cambridge is now making g a comeback; it still has a friendly a friendly vibe to it!
