Everyone is invited to the American Legion in Cambridge on Saturday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for the annual Fun Dog Show. Come to volunteer, enter your furry companions in the competitions, or just watch our four-legged friends bring joy to the community.
Christ Episcopal Church founded the show with Wayne and Frances Brooks in 1998, and it’s been a “barking” success ever since. Throughout that time, the show has featured dogs who rode motorcycles and bulldogs in ballerina tutus. There have been gentle giants and tiny dogs walked around the competition circle by proud kids and adults. For the last 27 years, the Fun Dog Show has been full of love, smiles, and lots of wagging.
Dogs of all types are welcome, from the rescued mutt to the most designer pampered pooch. Admission is free, but there is a small fee to participate. A portion of the funds raised is given to the Humane Society and animal rescues in Dorchester County.
American Legion Post 91 is located on Sunburst Highway at Radiance Drive in Cambridge.
