On Tuesday, April 30th, Londonderry on the Tred Avon hosted its “Swing into Spring” celebration, welcoming over 80 residents to a joyful morning of music, refreshments, and community connection on the campus lawn overlooking the scenic Tred Avon River and the community’s newly completed pier.

The event, held from 10:00 a.m. to noon, served as one of Londonderry’s regular New Resident Welcome Parties and provided a beautiful backdrop to introduce twelve new residents to the community. CEO Christine Harrington opened the celebration, and Director of Community Engagement Erica Hardeo introduced each new neighbor, sharing fun and memorable facts that had guests laughing and reminiscing. One lighthearted moment revealed that two residents, newly reunited at Londonderry, had attended college together decades ago.

“Events like this are such a meaningful way to bring our community together,” said Harrington. “They help new and longtime residents connect, share stories, and create new memories—right here at home.”

Residents enjoyed live music by the Hotel Paradise Swing Duo, creating a lively and elegant atmosphere. The Londonderry Dining Team, led by Chef Chelsea Harris, served a delicious menu featuring a fresh salmon board, quiche, egg bites, muffins, Danishes, bagels, yogurt parfaits, and fresh fruit. A mimosa bar added a celebratory touch, while fresh floral centerpieces brightened each table. As a parting gift, each guest received a packet of fresh herbs to plant in their gardens.

“Chelsea and her team did an amazing job,” said one resident. “We had a great turnout, and the weather could not have been more perfect. It’s such a wonderful way for neighbors to meet each other and enjoy our beautiful campus.”

Londonderry holds welcome events like this throughout the year to help new residents settle in and build relationships within the community. The last welcome party was held in November 2024.
