The Oxford Community Center (OCC) is proud to welcome Dr. Margaret Andersen, acclaimed sociologist and co-editor of Moving from the Margins: Life Histories on Transforming the Study of Racism, for a thought-provoking moderated discussion on Wednesday, March 20, at 6:30 PM.
Dr. Andersen, an award-winning scholar and professor, has spent her career exploring race, class, and gender in America. Her latest book is a powerful collection of essays from leading sociologists who reflect on how their personal experiences have shaped their work in understanding racial inequality. The discussion will delve into how lived experience influences scholarship, the evolving study of race, and the ongoing impact of social structures on marginalized communities.
