International Women’s Day “Unite & Resist” march in Cambridge March 8

March 8, 2025 by The Cambridge Spy

In honor of International Women’s Day on March 8, “Marsha T” invites any interested people to join her in a “Unite & Resist” march in Cambridge “to defend our rights, our bodies, and our future.” Bring signs, flags, energy, and passion to the Harriet Tubman statue at the Court House (206 High Street) in order to meet at 11am Saturday.

The purpose is to protest the flurry of activities of the Trump Administration and the president’s unelected associate, tech billionaire Elon Musk. The protestors fear a “hostile takeover to destroy our democracy and replace it with a dictator” who would “enrich himself and the oligarchs at the expense of” all Americans. They also are against the firing of thousands of civil service workers and the proposed tax cuts geared toward the ultra-wealthy.

The march will proceed up High Street to Poplar Street and then up Race Street to Cedar Street. Marchers will go “back up the other side” and finish at RAR for lunch. There the gathered will network and offer support.

Today I happened to come down Race/ Poplar street in Cambridge around 12 o’clock Sat and saw a hodgepodge of individuals one with a bullhorn and another young lady with a sign protesting women being a breeding ground. I said what in the world is this about in our little town. Kind of putting two and two together it seems at least part of this had to do with ladies wanting abortion rights. Here is just a thought or question . If you frequent a bar which RAR is what often happens? – inebriation What happens with inebriation? lack of inhabitation. What happens with lack of inhabitation? Little Babies being conceived. This is not some weird fringe thought it is a real life circumstance which happens all over our country everyday. Maybe if we had this thinking I really don’t want a baby then maybe just maybe we ought not to frequent places that would put us in that predicament.
