Baywater Animal Rescue is proud to announce that it has received a generous grant from the Maryland Department of Agriculture and a matching grant from the Albert W. Turner Charitable Lead Annuity Trust. These allow Baywater to offer free spay and neuter surgeries to low-income pet owners in Dorchester County. This initiative aims to reduce the number of unwanted litters and improve the health of pets in the community, furthering Baywater Animal Rescue’s mission of promoting humane care and preventing animal overpopulation.
“We are deeply grateful for the support of the Maryland Department of Agriculture and the Tuner Trust,” said Carly Stockus, Executive Director of Baywater Animal Rescue. “This funding will make a lasting impact by removing financial barriers to spay and neuter services and ensuring that more families can provide their pets with a healthier, happier life.”
How to Apply
Low-income pet owners in Dorchester County can sign up for the program by visiting Baywater Animal Rescue’s website at www.baywateranimalrescue.org/md2025 or calling 410-228-3090.
Appointments are limited, so early registration is encouraged. Spaying and neutering pets not only prevents unwanted litters but also reduces the risk of certain diseases and improves pets’ behavior, making it a vital step in responsible pet ownership.
