Cambridge city council president Lajan Cephas defeated former mayor Andrew Bradshaw in the runoff election on December 3rd. Cephas received 787 votes (53%) to Bradshaw’s 697 votes (47%).
Bradshaw conceded and congratulated the victor shortly after 9pm. Cephas will be sworn in as Cambridge’s second Black mayor at January’s first city council meeting.
