Women Supporting Women announces the addition of a new support group in Easton, MD.
WSW has had great success with its support groups for Survivors of breast cancer, with groups already established in Salisbury, Pocomoke, and Berlin. As a regional nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide awareness, education, and support to all those affected by breast cancer, it only made sense to expand their support groups into Easton.
In part of its expansion plan, WSW has recently begun giving out their Informational Signature Tote Bags at Lotus Oncology and Hematology and University of Maryland Shore Regional Health Clark Comprehensive Breast Center, both of which are located in Easton. With distributing tote bags in two locations and adding a support group in Easton, WSW hopes to continue its growth in a new area on the Eastern Shore and reach Survivors who may not have been helped yet by providing more of their services and support.
The new WSW Easton Support Group meets at Lotus Oncology and Hematology at 6:00 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month, with August’s meeting residing on Thursday, August 8th. The group is facilitated by WSW Board of Directors member, Staci Jelley. This month’s meeting will feature a special guest, Danuta Olson-Schuessler, to lead a discussion about PTSD and scanxiety. WSW hopes to see Survivors of Easton, Talbot County, and the surrounding area in attendance.
