The Dorchester County Court House on High Street is the fourth building to serve that purpose in Cambridge. The previous structure was burned by an unknown arsonist in 1852. Designed in an Italianate style by Richard Upjohn, the current court house was completed in 1854. It was remodeled and enlarged in 1931 to provide sufficient chambers for the various county government branches.
