High Street is the oldest thoroughfare in Cambridge, and author James Michener once called it “one of the most beautiful streets in America.” Given its name on July 15, 1706, it has housed governors, statesmen, lawyers, and other notables. It is also reputed to be the most haunted street on the Eastern Shore.
