The historic town of Cambridge, located on Maryland’s beautiful Eastern Shore, is the birthplace of Harriet Tubman, the extraordinary woman who was a liberator, abolitionist, spy and nurse for the Union Army, advocate for women’s suffrage and national hero.
This unique bike ride will follow part of the Underground Railroad (UGRR) on two routes of 25 and 43 miles, respectively, through scenic marsh and farmlands, with rest stops at historic sites. More information can be found at biketheugrr.com.
TO MAKE THIS RIDE A SUCCESS, WE NEED VOLUNTEERS FOR
• Route setup and take down: 7:00 am – 8:00 am & 12:00 Noon – 1:30 pm
• Bike mechanics check: 7:30 am – 9:30 am
• SAG (Support And Gear) Cars, Drivers, Communications: 7:30 am – 1:00 pm
• Registration – Setup and Check-in: 7:30 am – 10:00 am
• Rest stop captains, set-up, hosting, and take down: 7:30 am – 1:00 pm
• Finish Line – Check-out and take down: 10:00 am – 1:30 pm
• Miscellaneous activities as needed: 7:30 am – 1:30 pm
